Hi Antonija. This particular drawing was part of a larger series exploring drawing and movement. I think this drawing was made with pen if I remember correctly; other drawings were made with pencil, charcoal and ink or paint with a brush or pen. The movements started by being improvised by a dancer. Imagery and themes started appearing through the drawings and the movement. The dancer also created short texts and drew me moving also. We wanted to play with the idea of the visual artist as a voyeur and the dancer as the subject, so we mixed the roles. I’m hoping to continue this particular series. I’ve been drawing the human figure in motion for a long time now, not just dancers and professional movers, but also drawing everyday scenes of people passing through a space.
